Session Description
This session will provide a practical overview of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), focusing on employer responsibilities, employee eligibility, and the key triggers that require FMLA protections. Participants will gain clarity on how to determine coverage, navigate common compliance challenges, and respond appropriately when an employee requests or may qualify for leave.
In addition, this session will highlight current developments, including PAID Program 2.0 and the Employer Self-Audit process, offering guidance on how organizations can proactively review their practices, identify potential gaps, and strengthen overall compliance.
The session will conclude with a brief Q&A to address participant questions and real-world scenarios.

Speaker Bio
Victoria Gonzalez is a Senior Investigator for the Wage and Hour Division (WHD) at the U.S. Department of Labor based in the Fayetteville, Arkansas Field Office.
In this role, she supports enforcement, compliance, and stakeholder engagement efforts across the region. Her expertise encompasses a broad range of labor laws. She leads investigations, provides guidance to employers and workers to promote and improve the understanding and implementation of federal Wage and Hour regulations in the State.
